The water-side connection to the industrial area Luneort is presently guaranteed by the 200 m distant Labrador Harbor. The nominal depth in the Labrador Harbor is currently 7.60 m below MHaW (= average water level of the harbour).
At the head of the harbour as well as the east and west side of the harbour there is a public transhipment terminal for heavy cargo, which was finalized geared up to the needs of the offshore wind power plant construction.
The connection for inland waterway crafts to the German and European waterways is carried out from Bremerhaven on the Weser River (Unterweser) up to Bremen and from there on the Weser River (Mittelweser) and the Mittellandkanal (channel) respectively on the Weser River (Unterweser), the Hunte River (up to Oldenburg) and the coast channel.
Depending on the tide-driven water levels the Weser River (Unterweser) as well as the Hunte River can be travelled by sea ships with up to 11.1 m depth and 4.2 m. The Weser River (Mittelweser) and the Mittellandkanal (Channel) are passable by inland waterway crafts (Europe ship) with max. dimensions of L/W/D = 85/9.5/2.5 m (medium term "GMS" with 110/11.4/2.5 m) and the Coast Channel also with L/W/D = 85/9.5/2.5 m.
